RISE

Go Further and Experience More

RISE is a beautiful and dynamic Day Service program for semi-independent individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities who are interested in growing in their independence and exploring the community around them.

A unique offering of GoodLife, RISE participants in Douglas, Johnson, and Sedgwick Counties get to learn and improve their life skills, build friendships, mentor their peers, and give back to and have fun in their communities.

Become More Independent

RISE's curriculum-based teaching focuses on equipping participants with the skills needed to become their most independent selves. Lessons are tailored to the individuals in RISE and are developed to easily transition from the RISE clubhouse directly into the participant's daily lives.

Choose Your Own Adventure

Participants have direct input on the RISE community outings and volunteer opportunities and can make requests on where to go and what to do. They get to choose where to explore in their community!

What does the Curriculum look like?

The RISE curriculum focuses on building important life skills like hygiene and cleaning, job preparation and resume-building, journaling and art, money management, and more. With the growth of the program, our RISE leadership is further developing the curriculum to include objectives and outcomes, allowing staff to better support participants as they take their skills from the RISE clubhouse into their everyday lives.
