A Poem for Family Fun Day

A Poem for Family Fun Day

When Elena Ivanov, GoodLife’s RISE/STEP Coordinator, learned that Tyler Cobb has a real gift for words, she had an idea: what if Tyler wrote the invitation to this year’s Family Fun Day Carnival himself?

Tyler said yes — and it took him just 20 minutes to put the verses to paper. The poem was so well loved by everyone at GoodLife that it’s now framed and proudly on display at the Skills Building.

This isn’t Tyler’s first poem, and it won’t be his last. He’s written 86 poems so far, with a new one added most weeks. When asked where his inspiration comes from, Tyler put it simply:

“I find inspiration in everyday life, nature, friendship, my grandparents… really anything that touches my soul.”

Below, in his own words, is Tyler’s invitation to Family Fun Day — read on, and come celebrate with us!

Tyler’s Poem

We invite you, consumers, family, and everyone, to GoodLife Farm to have some fun. For consumers and their family, come join us and see what it is we do at RISE — the arts and crafts we make, you could take home as a prize. It’s our own fun and carnival — games and prizes, we have it all. You can see and pet the animals, but don’t worry, they are kept in their own stall. Don’t worry, they don’t wander around in their own animal mood, trying to eat up all the free food. We’ve left that just for you to eat up, along with all of the fun things you can do. So come with your family and bring your friends too — you’re welcome to come and enjoy your day.
